Morocco Itinerary: 4 Days desert tour from Fes To Marrakech

The departure from the Riad/Hotel will be at 8 a.m. The trip to Erg Chebbi sand dunes will last 8 hours, during which we will see the Atlas Mountains and some villages (Tafilalet, Erfoud, and Rissani). We will stop in some cities like Ifrane and Azrou to enjoy the view of the cedar woods and the monkeys living there.

The lunch will be served in Midelt, and then we will keep going through the Ziz valley with a beautiful view of the palm trees until we arrive at Erg Chebbi, where we will do a camel trek to reach the desert camp to spend the night in a Berber tent.

After breakfast, the camel trekked once again to the hotel for a shower. We leave the Sahara desert rises of Erg Chebbi, a rough terrain drive over the hamada (black desert), to get to the Saharan town of Rissani.

Subsequently, we head north to Erfoud, which is known for the fossils; here we can stop to visit a fossil workshop before we proceed to the amazing Todra valley, known for rock climbing, where you can walk before we drive to the hotel, dinner, and overnight.

Breakfast at the hotel, we start our trip along the way of Thousand Kasbahs, since there are colossal kasbahs on both sides of the street. Some of the aforementioned old, strengthened houses have been restored, but sadly, a considerable number of them are vestiges.

We pass through Dades Valley and continue off-road to the rocky region, where numerous Berber villages and many nomads live in caverns. Here we will have the opportunity to visit one of these families and investigate their day-to-day lives and their fundamental movement, “Looking after groups of goats and chirping."

We will be astounded by the scenes of the brilliant rose valley before we achieve Skoura palm groves. 45km further, we reach Ouarzazate for the night in a local hotel.

After breakfast, we will start our trip with a visit to the cinema studios found in Ouarzazate, which is regarded as the Hollywood of Africa. After that, we'll go to the Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, which Unesco designated as a world heritage site in 1987.

Ait Benhaddou is a World Heritage Site that has been utilized as a setting for more than 20 movies incorporating "Gladiator,” “Indiana Jones,” and “Lawrence of Arabia." Revel in a stroll to investigate the universal Moroccan style of construction modeling in which the Kasbahs are constructed.

We proceed with our approach to Marrakesh through the High Atlas Mountains and Tizin'tichka Pass. Stop for lunch up in the center of the Atlas Mountains. Drop-off at your riad or hotel in Marrakech

Youssef Bouni

It is a great pleasure to introduce myself to you, dear guests, My full name is Youssef Bouni. I was born and raised in the desert (southeast of Morocco). I studied the English language for 7 years, and I learned some other languages thanks to the tourists, like Spanish, French, Italy, and a little German. I usually like to discover and explore many things in our rich cultural society: imperial cities, countryside, and a wonderful desert that consists of golden sand dunes, mountains, rivers, and beautiful landscapes.
